Emily Tucker, Director of Benjaman Gallery Group, grew up in the art gallery her parents founded in 1970. She has always been surrounded by fine art and has developed a keen eye for quality. After spending years working in the financial world of New York City, as a client services representative for Morgan Stanley and the Highview Hedgefund, Tucker took a job at Macklowe Gallery on Madison Avenue. At Macklowe, Tucker learned how to work with high-end collectors and market investment quality fine art.
In 2010, Tucker returned home to Buffalo take over the family fine art gallery. Since then, she has been using her vast and varied experiences in New York to expand the family business to an international market, including maintaining an office in New York City and launching a second Buffalo location, which will focus on contemporary art (scheduled to open in Spring of 2018). Tucker is also a founding partner in a collaborative venture Resource:Art (R:A). R:A was started by Tucker and two other female gallerists with the aim of placing public art across the quickly growing urban landscape of Buffalo. Thus far R:A has partnered with Delaware North Companies, Ciminelli Real Estate Company and ABC-Amega Financial as well as countless private clients.
Tucker is on the board of the Buffalo Center for Art and Technology, Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center and the YWCA of WNY.
